Ciao Bellas!

You know that feeling before a trip when you are insanely excited, but it JUST DOESN’T FEEL REAL that you are actually going on it? You think it might sink in when you are on the plane, but leading up to it all you can think about is work, cleaning the house, and eating up all the food in your fridge – and you still can’t believe that you bought a plane ticket and the universe is letting you take a vacation?!

Well that has been Chris and I for the past few weeks, but thanks to our dearest friends, Lizzy and Pat, who have given us the sweetest gift in the world, we have been properly dreaming about Italy every night before we go to bed.

The loveliness is This is Venice, a book by M. Sasek. It is a children’s book packed with beautiful illustrations and has surprisingly very informative tips on the wonders of Venice! But the best part is that Chris and I have read bits of it every night before falling asleep to help wash away the worries of the day, and let us spend the night dreaming of our adventures to come.

We didn’t deserve such a perfect gift, but thank you to our outrageously thoughtful friends for inspiring and encouraging us to take this trip!

And for the rest of y’all out there if you are ever wondering about what nice gesture to do for friends before they take a milestone trip or experience, take a page out of Lizzy and Pat’s handbook, and buy them a book to aid their daydreaming!

And last but not least to all the grown-up partyers out there, I won’t be posting for the month of May, but I will be back online in June with endless stories of discotheques, gelato-overdoses, and romance!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This book has taught us SO MUCH! Here are a few of it’s wisest lessons:

Venice is shaped like a DOLPHIN!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

EVERY door in Venice is numbered, even if it is no longer a door and leads to nowhere.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Do NOT imitate the horses with the tiny hats. Venetians don’t.

Beware of crazy pigeons.

Venice will luckily never look like this, because there are NO CARS!

The children's classic that stole our heart. Thanks again Lizzy and Pat!
